PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The Brightside Café features a lively, welcoming space designed for both quick visits and relaxed stays. The interior combines neutral materials like marine ply, terrazzo, and concrete, with vibrant pops of sunrise-inspired orange and yellow, referencing the nearby surf lifesaver building. Frameless glass doors open to create a seamless connection between the café and the exterior, while a translucent orange acrylic pelmet defines the space. The counter area is simple and functional, with terrazzo tiles and a feature ply ceiling. The warm-toned terrazzo and marine ply details are repeated throughout the café, creating a cohesive, modern look. The rear space offers soft booths with yellow upholstery and concrete-look walls, while the external dining pavilion continues removable seat pads, and a clear roof to protect from the elements. Retractable awnings and blinds provide sun and rain protection, ensuring the space remains flexible and comfortable year-round.
